Jupiter wasn’t built in a day, sorta like Rome. The massive legs were, for years, part of a section of hollow beech log that I had worked and shaped and then set aside. Jupiter’s top came together over a period of months. the stone inclusions took a while to get right, as well. Then, it was even more months before I figured that I could section the hollow log up and make the legs you see now.
Jupiter is all spalted beech, and very heavy. You’ll want to be sure of where you position him, because he doesn’t move without some effort.
